Completed Undergraduate Studies in Communication at Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico City. Has done Graduate coursework on Comparative Literature at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, Mexico City, and is a Communication Ph.D. Candidate at Universidad de Navarra, Spain.
Currently she is the Head of the Communication Department at Universidad Iberoamericana and Director of the university’s Radio Station, ibero90.9radio. She also holds the UNESCO Chair «Telecommunications and Society», as well as the Channel 22 Chair «Cultural and Educational Television» and the Radio Educación Chair «Sound Art and Exploration».
She has been responsible for the academic areas of Research Methodologies and New Technologies in the undergraduate program in Communication at Universidad Iberoamericana, and also coordinates the Applied Communication Minor in the same program.
She teaches Communication and Technology, Theory of Communication and Communication Research both in the Undergraduate and Graduate Programs in Communication. She is co-responsible for the graduate research program on « Studies on Digital Society ».
Member of the editorial committee for the Revista Iberoamericana de Comunicación; member of the Editorial Council of the Instituto Federal de Acceso a la Información (Federal Institute for Access to Information); member of diverse Mexican and International associations on communication subjects. Has extensive publications on: Cyberrights, Expressive profiles of Digital Logic, Media and Convergence, Ethics in the Digital Age, Pathways for Television Technology, etc.
Before becoming a full time scholar, she worked for the Public and Private Sectors in Mexico as International Information and Special Projects Manager for Sistema de Información y Logística S.A. de C.V. (Televisa); as Research Consultant, Writer and Producer for radio and television; as Research Consultant for Mexico’s Ministry of Education and México’s Foreign Ministry, among others.
She has been a translator for English, French, German, and Spanish for the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, Mexico’s Foreign Ministry, Georgetown University, etc.
She is a partner-consultant for Praxis Intercultural and for Pórtico Información y Análisis, institutions specialized on information processing and scenario development.
