Bachelor’s Degree in Information Sciences and PhD in Food and Communication from the Complutense University of Madrid, as well as a postgraduate degree in Social Media Management from Columbia University in New York. She has been a professor at Rey Juan Carlos University (Madrid) since 2018 and has directed the Master’s Program in Food Communication and Gastronomic Journalism at The Foodie Studies since 2013.

She is a researcher at the UNESCO Chair in Communication Research, specializing in food communication and food studies—an emerging academic field in universities across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. A pioneer in this discipline in Spain, she was awarded the first National Prize for Gastronomic Journalism “Álvaro Cunqueiro” in 2021.

Her latest book is Food Studies en español: Investigación actual en gastronomía y comunicación (Fragua, 2024), co-edited with Rebecca Ingram.
