Institutions dedicated to an inclusive, just, and effective global governance system, including the Foundation for Global Governance and Sustainability (FOGGS) in Belgium, the Inclusive Society Institute in South Africa, and the Humanitarian Journalism and Media Interventions research group (HumanizaCom) in Brazil, are pleased to extend a special invitation to your university, its professors, and students.
These organizations collectively form the Global South Perspectives Network (GSPN), a collaboration of think tanks and individual researchers from the Global South focused on global governance reform. In support of the Summit of the Future (SOTF) discussions in New York in September 2024, an online event centered on the Zero Draft of the Pact for the Future is being organized.
Scheduled for Friday, March 1, 2024, the event comprises two segments: guest expert speakers and Q&A from 9 am to 10 am New York time, followed by a student workshop from 10 am to 11 am New York time. This presents a unique opportunity for students to analyze the Zero Draft’s contents, delve into its historical context, and contribute to its finalization and adoption. The aim is to foster cutting-edge discussions on global governance, sustainability, peace, and security, providing students with an invaluable chance to actively participate in shaping the future of our world.
Participating in this are orbicom members such as Malvina Eugenia Rodríguez from UNESCO Chair in Public Communication for Social Justice, Human Rights and Territorial Development, as well as Roberto Chiachiri and Cilene Victor da Silva from the UNESCO Chair in communication at the Metodista University of Sao Paulo.
Advance registration is a requirement for participation – Registration deadline midnight (New York time) on February 29th, 2024.
