The UNITWIN/UNESCO Chairs Program is pleased to invite you to the next Dialogue on Futures, which will take place on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Paris time), online, in English and French.
This session, on ‘Transcending boundaries: Futures thinking for addressing systemic challenges’, will consider how futures thinking can support innovative approaches to inform policymaking, in the context of the complexity and interconnectedness of the challenges confronting the world today. Futures thinking is a systemic approach to planning, preparing, and imagining a plurality of future possibilities.
This Futures Dialogue will build on the UNESCO’s observation of World Futures Day held in Paris on 2 December 2025 (see recording and article). It will feature several UNESCO Chairs in futures studies, who will share their insights on how to enhance anticipatory governance at the local, national, and global levels.
Video recordings of the previous Futures Dialogue on Protecting and promoting cultural and linguistic diversity in the digital environment(17 December 2025)are now available on the event webpage in English and French.
