Later, the Department was re-established by the Agreement signed between Baku State University and UNESCO in 2015 on the basis of “UNITWIN / UNESCO Chairs Program” established by UNESCO in 1992 and renamed as “the UNESCO Chair on Human Rights and Information Law”. In 2019, the Report on the activities of the Chair was submitted to UNESCO, and the decision was made by UNESCO to continue the cooperation by positively evaluating the activity of the Chair.

At present, the Chair is headed by Doctor of Laws, Professor Aliyev Amir Ibrahim.

The main characteristic feature of the Chair, in which the youngest academic staff of the Law Faculty is involved, is due to the fact that most of the teaching staff graduated from prestigious domestic and foreign educational institutions and are able to conduct a high level of teaching in various languages.
